Later that day I got out there by helicopter. I got stuck in Chenega Bay for three days while a big storm passed through. You can see that the storm wreaked havoc out here at the station. Earlier the week before there had been no rime ice on the station but now there was several inches. In fact, we were having freezing rain drop on us while I removed a few of the more expensive instruments. The freezing rain also meant less time on the ground since it's tough to fly a helicopter which has had ice freeze to the blades. As bad as this looks the station was still recording data so we had a complete record from August through January.
