In the spring of 2002 Mike and I went on several snow machine trips. This ice is right near where we crossed Shaw Creek by snow machine on an ice bridge. We were quite tentative at the time to get out on the ice. Well, we had nothing to fear as it turns out. In 2003 we drilled some holes in the ice and found after an abnormally warm winter the ice in the river was, at the narrowest place we found... 3 feet thick. So, I think it can support a snowmachine or two.
